BARSC Mission Statement

BARSC aims to encourage racers of all ages into international skiing at a high level of competence and professionalism.

BARSC hopes to provide constant help and support to affiliated clubs and their members who compete annually on snow.

Our overreaching goal is to promote British ski racing across the world.

The Scottish Ski Club was founded as long ago as 1907 to promote all types of skiing in Scotland. The Club was proud to celebrate its centenary in 2007 and looks forward to its continuing prominence through the twenty-first century.

Membership is open to anyone with an interest in skiing. We offer a wide range of facilities to our members, backed up by a wealth of experience and knowledge covering the whole spectrum of skiing. We have built huts at the main Scottish skiing areas to provide excellent meeting places for members as well as a secure refuge from the elements. You can ski to the door of each, or reach them by a short walk. Inside the huts, you will find warmth and friendship and, at certain times, catering facilities. Although a club for members of all types and abilities racing and race training are major Club activities and over the years we have nurtured a high proportion of Olympic, British and Scottish team members. Each season we offer race training at Cairngorm and Nevis Range and , together with Scotland's other racing clubs, organise up to four Alpine training camps. The club also runs races at home and abroad including the Anglo Scottish Championships and the Scottish Children's Championships.
