BARSC Mission Statement

BARSC aims to encourage racers of all ages into international skiing at a high level of competence and professionalism.

BARSC hopes to provide constant help and support to affiliated clubs and their members who compete annually on snow.

Our overreaching goal is to promote British ski racing across the world.

Snowsports is a ski club based in the North West of England. Training is aimed primarily at teaching children to race on snow. There are regular training nights every Wednesday at Runcorn Ski Centre, 7.15 to 9pm. Other training sessions are arranged at weekends at the indoor snow facilities in the North of England. There is always a snow training camp in Austria every October; this is a popular week and places fill up quickly. The main program is aimed at the children but they also run master classes for parents as well. Racing / training camps are held to take in the BARSC championships at New Year, the English Championships in February and the British/Scottish Championships at Easter. The club has always had good links with ESSKIA (English Schools Ski Association) and encourages parents to support school teams to take part in the September races. Over the years many children from the club have been selected for ESSKIA squads and gone on to represent English Schools at the ISF World Schools Ski Championships.
